In her last semester, Maya observes how psychoanalysis, connectivity, and art overlap. Maya opens up her inner workings of the mind by presenting her family dynamics as a spectacle using Jean Martin Charcot’s public demonstrations of hysteria patients as a departure point. Drawing from Beatrice Beebe’s “microanalysis,” Maya will record both subjects for later study. In this two hour performance piece, titled “Confess,” Maya sits and converses with her mother, Maria, in a theatrical and constructed living room.
